Details:

SOUP event's have come to Rochdale and will be at the Rochdale Pioneers Museum on Tuesday 31st May, 6-8pm.

SOUPs are community-based grant funding and development programmes believing in local people’s ideas to build a better, brighter future for Rochdale’s community. It’s about collaboration and investment of time and money into democratically elected local projects. It’s about raising awareness of local projects, about people coming together, networking and co-operating to help achieve each other’s ideas and taking ownership of the regeneration of Rochdale.

The general idea of a SOUP is to gather people to share a simple meal and donate. The income generated will be given as a grant to support a creative project. These grants generate independent funding. Given the limited access to funding, community participation in grants funding and selection process is key!

Whilst raising money, SOUPs also provide an excellent opportunity to build a network of support and community other than monetary assistance. It is an open platform to discuss ongoing and potential projects with new audiences, new collaborators and share and change ways of working.

Entry fee: Donations Welcome
