Details:

Father Christmas will arrive at the outdoor stage at 6.00pm... Followed by the competition presentation and the light switch on.

There is a free grotto on the indoor stage, children will be invited to visit the grotto and receive their free Christmas gift, as well as musical entertainment by the Whitworth Vale and Healey Youth Band and Whitworth Community Choir.

The Riverside will be serving a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie for a small charge, with kid’s refreshments also available.  Father Christmas will be issuing sweets to the children, 2018 Whitworth calendars will be on sale and ducks will be available to sponsor for the New Year’s Day Duck Race.

Because the stage is going to be outside we are going to have to stop people entering and leaving the carpark between 5.45pm and 6.45pm, if you are planning to arrive or leave between these times please walk to the event or park nearby on Market Street.  You are welcome to use the Riverside carpark for the event as long as you arrive by 5.45pm and do not leave until after 6.45pm.

The evening is expected to draw to a natural close around 7.00pm.

This event is a real community event and would not be possible without the help of local people. The committee would like to thank RRG Rochdale who have kindly donated sweets this year for Father Christmas to hand out in his grotto, to Proscenium for the loan of the amazing grotto and to Val Bennet who has sponsored the prizes for the colouring competition winners.
