Details:

Business owners across the borough of Rochdale are invited to an event at an award-wining local race track.

Energise Your Business will take place at Team Karting’s Ensor Mill site on Queensway, Rochdale on Thursday 22 March from 8am-10:30am.

Run by Business Growth Hub, part of The Growth Company, in partnership with Rochdale Borough Council and the Rochdale Development Agency, the event will use the success story of Team Karting to show other local businesses how support from the Hub can help them to reach the next level.

The event’s guest speaker, Matty Street, CEO of Team Karting, started out driving go-karts aged 11 which lead to studying motorsport engineering and logistics at college and university.

Beginning his career at Team Karting as a racing marshal, Matty worked his way up the company. With support from the Hub’s Access to Finance and Workforce Development teams, and ongoing advice from dedicated mentor Andy Hall, who will be chairing the event, Matty was able to buy the business last year at just 21 years old.

Now running as a family-owned business with a social heartbeat and relaunched by the Mayor of Rochdale at the end of 2017, Matty is taking Team Karting to new levels of success.

Alan Bambroffe, finance specialist at the Hub, will also give a talk outlining the full range of fully-funded support the Hub can offer to businesses based in the borough, and representative from Rochdale Borough Council will also be on hand to give an update on support the local authority can give to businesses in the borough.
