Story and crafts for the whole family

Parents and children are invited to join Heybrook and Greenbank Sure Start Children’s Centres at Jarvis Street Methodist Church for a craft and story time every week starting from Friday this week.

The session will include favourite children stories such as The very hungry caterpillar, The tiger that came for tea, Peepo and The biggest bear. Each week will be themed with a different story and related craft run by the Children’s Centre in the church hall to encourage parents who maybe haven’t used the Children’s Centre services yet to join in.

The sessions will take place every Friday from 12.45pm – 1.45pm. All are welcome, no need to book, just turn up on the day. For more information on this or any other of the activities run by Heybrook and Greenbank Children’s Centre, please call 01706 630712. Rochdale Sure Start Children’s Centre offer a full time table of events for families with children aged 0 – 5 throughout the week.

10am – 3pm: Aazam cooks with kids 

Saturday 11th July
11am – 3.45pm: Aldo cookery demonstration
12noon – 12.45pm & 2pm – 2.45pm: Aazam cookery demonstration

12noon -12.45pm: Aldo Zilli book signing at WH Smith in the Exchange Shopping Centre

Throughout both days there will be open air interactive cookery demonstrations by various chefs, in addition to the sessions shown. Details are correct at time of going to press but may be altered without notice. All timings are approximate.

For the second consecutive year the outdoor market returns with a wide selection of tasty treats to tantalise your taste buds, including home made chutneys, preserves, pickles and sauces, local organic quality foods, fudge, savoury and fruit pies, scones, cakes, fresh fruit and veg, fresh bread, fresh meat and fish.

Many of the stalls are from the local region, so why not support your local economy and indulge your appetite by picking up a snack from one of the traders.

Rochdale Feel Good Festival & Music Event

Rochdale town centre will come alive with sights and sounds this summer as the Feel Good Festival returns for its second year. 

Already confirmed in the line-up are celebrity chefs Aldo Zilli and Aazam Ahmad who will be providing live interactive chef demonstrations.

The festival will include live music across eight venues plus an outdoor stage near the Town Hall. Artists are set to be confirmed in the next few days, with XFM DJ Clint Boon already signed up to compere the main stage.

Jill Hodkinson, Township Manager at Rochdale Council, said the festival will provide something for everyone: “This year’s Rochdale Feel Good Festival will be bigger and better than ever providing a feast of music, food and entertainment to the town centre.”

'Canals of the Pennines' Summer Exhibition at Littleborough Gallery
