Event: Stronger Together Conference

The conference is particularly for:
- key public sector bodies with a long term stake in the Borough – ‘anchors’
- local co-ops and social enterprises
- local voluntary and community organisations and service providers.
The purpose is to explore new ways in which we can collaborate in order to deliver and develop services for the people intended to benefit. In this way we seek to create a strong local economy that expands opportunity and enhances the wellbeing and life chances of local people.
The Borough is experiencing tough times and further austerity cuts to public services have been demanded. There is real hardship in communities. Brexit is adding uncertainty regarding the future performance of the economy. We believe that it is now vital that key stakeholders from the local public, business and voluntary and community sectors explore how best they can share and co-operate to achieve our shared objectives.
We are currently finalising the programme for the event to include key speakers with knowledge and experience of the approach. I am very pleased to confirm that Gareth Swarbrick, Chief Executive of RBH, has confirmed he will be speaking about its commitment to developing its role as a local anchor institution.
