Are you 16 to 25 years old and unemployed? Here at GMFRS we are recruiting for future Prince’s Trust courses that give young people endless opportunities.

The Princes Trust Team Programme is a 12 week programme for unemployed young people to help them develop skills and improve their confidence.

Over the 12 weeks, the team will take part in a one week residential where they will participate in a variation of outdoor team building activities and engage with their local community through projects, events and fundraising. We support and encourage young people to help them gain the resilience to move into positive progression beyond. They will also have the opportunity to get involved in projects in the wider community and will partake in a two week work placement.

You will gain certificates and develop many skills in:

You will also achieve a recognised Prince's Trust Team qualification in:

We will soon be recruiting for our next team which is due to start on Monday 29 January. If you would like a discussion about the programme then please feel free to get in touch using the details below.

Breakdown of the 12 Weeks:

Day 1: During the first day you will meet new people and do numerous fun activities to help you all get to know each other. The whole day will be very informal and you don’t have to worry about coming alone as there will be around 12 other young people in the same situation.

Weeks 1-2: During weeks one and two you will plan for the weeks ahead and set out what you want to achieve and how to gain your qualifications. You will also be planning for your residential.

Week 3: This is your residential week. You will be trying new things and learning how to work with others. The residential will include activities like canoeing, climbing, navigation training and more!

Weeks 4-6: You and the team will decide on a project that will benefit your local community and carry it out. This is an amazing opportunity to learn and develop new skills and will be great to talk about at any future interviews.

Weeks 7-8: These are the weeks you will be at your work placement. This is a chance to try out what type of work you are interested in and will develop your skills in the workplace. You will also be given a reference for your CV.

Week 9: During this week you will plan for your future. You'll be helped to write a fantastic CV, practice interview skills and make applications.

Weeks 10-11: The team will take on a challenge to help others in the community. This will test out all the skills you have worked on and developed so far.

Week 12: This is the final week. You and the rest of the team will give a presentation on your experience during the programme to an invited audience. This is a chance to see how far you’ve come during your time here.
