RRR Business Networking Breakfast will be held at the Norton Grange Hotel, Monday 6 February at 7:30 am.

The informal breakfast (bacon rolls, croissants, coffee etc) will cost £7 - pay on the door. For catering purposes, please advise Stuart Sawle stuart.sawle@sysop.co.uk if you plan to attend.

The meeting is intended to promote pride and productivity within the borough and to allow business leaders to network with each other in a relaxed informal atmosphere.

Ivan Goldberg – Business Mentor & Executive Coach will give a short talk on becoming better leaders, making better decisions leading to better results (Ivan was ill in December so couldn't make the meeting he was booked for).

The meeting will finish by 08:45 which means attendees can still be at their desks for 9am.

Reggae Reggae Sauce star Levi Roots will be coming to Rochdale in February to share his inspirational story and entrepreneurial skills with high street businesses across the borough.

Levi will be giving his top tips for business success during his keynote speech ‘You Can Get it If You Really Want’ at a high profile event to launch the Rochdale Borough High Street Foundation.

The Foundation will focus on creating new, sustainable high streets for Rochdale - and any business trading on a high street across the borough is invited to be a part of it.

This free event is taking place on Wednesday 15 February between 5.30pm and 8.30pm in the Great Hall at Rochdale Town Hall.

Other high profile speakers include Retail Champion Clare Rayner and Rochdale’s Paul Turner-Mitchell, who was recently named in leading fashion magazine Drapers’ top 100 power list for 2011.

Councillor Peter Williams, Cabinet Member for Corporate Services and Economic Development at Rochdale Borough Council, said high streets up and down the country are realising that change is needed if they are to remain vibrant places where people want to go.

Levi’s success followed a 2007 appearance on popular BBC television show Dragons’ Den where he secured £50,000 investment for a return share of 20 per cent of his company. His Reggae Reggae sauce was sold in Sainsbury’s stores across the country becoming the chain’s fastest ever selling product.

An upcoming free driver training course facilitated by the Energy Saving Trust aims to help Rochdale businesses save up to 15% on fuel expenses and lower vehicle maintenance costs.

The course is being organised by Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale who have invited specialist driving instructors from DriveSense to teach delegates about the benefits of fuel efficient driving.

The instructors will carry out 50 minute training sessions with one participant, in either a van or car. The delegate will complete an initial drive which will be monitored by a data logger to highlight areas where fuel efficiency can be improved. A second drive will be carried out to apply the principles learned during the session.

There are two Smarter Driver Training sessions taking place - Tuesday 21st February at The Groundwork Environment Centre, Shaw Road, Oldham OL1 4AW and Wednesday 22nd February at Groundwork Bury & Bolton, 48 Blackburn Street, Radcliffe, M26 1NQ. The session is free to attend but places are limited so registration is required. The Aim of the rochdale borough women’s enterprise network is to promote independence and self-belief amongst women entrepreneurs in Rochdale borough.

The Objectives of the rochdale borough women’s enterprise network are:

• To provide motivational support structures and activities for the membership
• To provide signposting to support services for women entrepreneurs
