Fifteen businesses still closed due to Boxing Day floods

Fifteen businesses in Rochdale Town Centre are still closed following the Boxing Day floods. It is understood that due to the flooding that hit the town over the Christmas period, 65 businesses had to close their doors.

Fishwicks newsagents, on The Butts, is currently undergoing a full refurbishment following the flood.

My Local on Smith Street is having to start again from scratch and The Regal Moon is set to be closed for at least three months.

Headquarters, The Unisex Barbers, on The Walk, is currently closed but is trading from the top floor of Beales Department Store until their premises can re-open.

Stephen Paul Hair Design on The Butts is closed but is operating from Gregory Couzens Hair Salon on The Walk.

A number of banks have been closed for some time since the flooding but HSBC has re-opened yesterday (Friday 8 January) and Halifax Bank is due to re-open on Monday 11 January.
