PossAbilities gets £6.5 million boost

Date published: 17 March 2016

Heywood-based PossAbilities has landed a significant new contract.

The social enterprise, which provides support to vulnerable adults across the borough, has won a three year contract to provide supported living services in Widnes and Runcorn.

Worth £6.5 million, the contract with Halton Borough Council will see PossAbilities take on 110 new staff and open a new office in Widnes.

Rachel Law, Chief Executive said: “This is a magnificent step forward for us as a company. Coming as it did shortly after the Care Quality Commission rated us as ‘outstanding’, the Big Lottery Fund granted £267,000 for us to bring Homeshare to the North and winning £137,000 for our Cherwell Wellbeing Garden, these are heady times. I think it’s a great reflection on the brilliant work that PossAbilities people are doing day in and day out.”
