Local business supporters of Springhill Hospice have been roaming the streets of Rochdale collecting funds and gifts for the charity.

With loaned wheelie bins and donation tins, Springhill Hospice Business Buddies went door-to-door on Yorkshire Street as part of the Go Green project.

Katie Bowmer, from TBD Accounting, put on a bright green wig and took to the streets. She said: “This is for a great cause and it is also a great opportunity to get the word around for the business buddies scheme.

“People have been generous with their donations and we would like to thank everyone who helped us.”

CLiCK Fire & Security set off on the road for Go Green starting in Milnrow and heading over towards Littleborough.

Derek Dixon form CLiCK Fire & Security said: “It’s a great day to raise some money, who cares what we look like.”

Kerry Hargreaves from Molesworths Solicitors said: “We have joined in the fun today, we’ve got Mint Choc Cupcakes being sold and a dress down day. Everyone is buzzing, it’s a good feeling raising money for such a great charity.”

H Bell and Sons Ltd are supporting Springhill Hospice Green Day, they said: “We have lots of cake today, all for a great cause. We think some of our staff have taken the Go Green Day to heart, well done to Elaine and Brett for dressing up.”
