Fisherfield Childcare celebrates 20th anniversary

Date published: 08 June 2016

Fisherfield Childcare Rochdale has been celebrating its 20th anniversary with week-long events and parties, including the launch of a new nursery in Middleton.

Fisherfield Childcare started two decades ago with the Rochdale owners Nicky and David MacGill, who are themselves parents to three sons. The years, they say, have flown by as the business has flourished.

To mark the end of the celebrations, the first ever Summer Fair will be held at the new Middleton premises on Saturday (11 June), featuring a steel band and a host of other attractions.

The children have been enjoying a week of celebratory craft making, music and parties.

Louise Chow, who works at Fisherfield Childcare, said: “We will have food and drink on offer, as well a live steel band and some special guests.

“One of the favourite activities for the children is having the chance to show their relatives round the nursery and tell them about what they get up to on the playground.

“All proceeds will go to our chosen charity, the NSPCC.”

Owner David MacGill said: “We are pleased to have had the privilege to provide care for children over the last 20 years. Our focus has always been to nurture and develop the children so they are confident and active learners when they leave us to go on to school.

"This year we have celebrated our special birthday with the acquisition of The School House in Middleton and we plan further expansion at our nursery in the Redvales Children's' centre in Bury.

“This continued growth will put us in a strong position to meet increased demand from the government's 30 hours funded care programme due to start in September 2017.”
