Proofings Coated Fabrics break-ins could "cause a major hazard"

Proofings Coated Fabrics on Hare Hill Road
Proofings Coated Fabrics in Littleborough is worried that a spate of vandalism, break ins and theft at their premises could cause a major hazard to the local environment.
The factory on Hare Hill Road manufactures rubber coated textiles and foil laminates and was broken into four times last week. Vandals broke into the factory twice during the week and then again on Friday and Sunday evening stealing items of engineering equipment and ransacking the lockers of employees.
The factory stores chemicals and is not an environment that is safe for people untrained in handling. The company is concerned that the perpetrators could cause a major hazard to themselves, the local environment and residents if the break-ins continue.
A factory representative said: "This has been happening for years on various levels, normally during the school holidays, but has now become a major problem."
