Document XL to offer printers and copiers free of charge to local charities

Date published: 15 May 2017

Document XL is offering charities in the Rochdale area the chance to make use of excess printers and copiers- free of charge.

The machines, supplied under Document XL’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) policies, will be loaned free of charge to local charities and will be on a first come, first served basis.

Cartwheel Arts in Heywood and a special needs school in Middleton have already benefitted from the offer with a Xerox printer and a Xerox A3 colour copier printer, respectively.

Document XL will link the devices to their computer systems, so that they can print to the machines and will include full training on how the machines work.

Document XL have a mixture of copiers and printers available to suit most needs, including:

  • A number of small, desktop A4 Xerox 8560 colour printers.
  • Several Desktop A4 Xerox 8570 colour copier- printer- scanning machines.
  • A few floor-standing A4/A3 Xerox WorkCentre Mono and Colour Multi-function machines

Charities are required to cover the cost of an ongoing maintenance contract with Xerox UK (minimum of 12 months up to five years, if required), including all spare toners, all parts, all replacement parts fitted by Xerox engineers and the service call out charges.

Document XL will invoice the customer for the number of copies produced on the Xerox device, quarterly in arrears. The copy charges vary between models, but start at 5p for a colour page and 0.85p for mono.

The machines also utilise the company’s Charity-Wrap™ scheme, which saw them voted the ninth most caring company in Britain by Real Business in March.

Charity-Wrap™ provides sustainable support for charities, enabling organisations to consistently support their chosen cause through doing nothing more than going about their business, donating 1p to a charity of their choice, including Springhill Hospice, for every full colour page printed.
