Victoria Burns promoted to senior stylist at Gregory Couzens

Date published: 26 August 2017

Gregory Couzens salon on The Walk has a new senior stylist in Victoria Burns.

The 22-year-old from Milnrow was promoted at the start of August after two years as a junior stylist.

Victoria said: “I like it. It is a nice feeling. All my clients are behind me and have accepted it well. I have put my prices up but I have not noticed an effect from it, if anything, I have been busier. Onwards and upwards.”

Currently, the newly-promoted senior stylist is also completing a five-week course in modern and traditional barbering at Christian Booth in Royton, building her skills in hot towel shaves, waxing, fading, and shaping.

Victoria began working at Gregory Couzens in August/September 2015, after a two-year apprenticeship as a junior colour technician at Celest Arnold in Edenfield. She now works in cutting and barbering, which she says is her calling.

She explained: “I originally applied for a job the year before but Greg wanted someone with more experience. Greg got in touch with me months later. I saw the opportunity and took it.

“I am not sure what the future holds but I love the barbering side: I think I’ve found my calling. I want to thrive and get better and build more of a clientele.”

Victoria added: “I enjoy working here. It is a nice atmosphere and I am always looking for new clients. We are always happy if anyone wants to pop in for a free consultation.”

Greg commented: “It is so refreshing to see the young generation work hard to achieve their goals. Victoria is a prime example of what hard work and dedication can achieve. We are so incredibly proud of her.”
