Local charity Groundwork is on the hunt for up to five new members to join their Board of Trustees to get involved and make a difference to the future direction of the organisation.
Groundwork is specifically looking for applications from younger people and people from a range of ethnic minority backgrounds.
Groundwork operates locally across Bolton, Bury, Oldham and Rochdale and is part of a wider federation of Groundwork Trusts, supporting communities across the UK. Groundwork is a registered charity with over 35 years of experience, working with partners to deliver successful projects in the local area.
Vicki Devonport, Executive Director at Groundwork BBOR, said: “We are keen to recruit people with a passion for supporting our charity with specific expertise such as financial, networking, negotiation and stakeholder management skills. Our Trustees play and vital role in shaping our vision and providing expert support to help drive the charity forward.”
Groundwork helps people of all ages and backgrounds change their own life whilst bringing beneficial changes to their community. They provide training and create jobs, reduce energy and waste, re-connect people with nature and transform green spaces, community assets and whole neighbourhoods.
John Bland, Chairman of Trustees at Groundwork BBOR, said: “The next few years promise to be exciting ones for Groundwork. We live in interesting times, full of challenge and with a positive outlook, good opportunities also. Our new Trustees will help us to make the most of these opportunities and strengthen the organisation.”
“We’re looking for individuals who will provide proactive advice and support to make better links between Groundwork and other partners. The role of Trustee offers you the chance to make a valuable contribution to a charity supporting local communities at a grass roots level. ”
The position of Trustee is a voluntary role and the closing date for applications is Friday 27 March at 12pm.
