Julie Burns toasts 21 years running Littleborough pub

A landlady from Littleborough is celebrating after a successful 21 years at the helm of The Falcon - Julie Burns started running the pub, situated on Church Street, in 1992.

Julie commented: “I jumped at the opportunity to take on The Falcon as the pub had always been a local favourite and we could see its potential as a pub for the whole community to enjoy in a beautiful village.

“For me, The Falcon is not only my home, but a second home for my customers. I know their names and get involved with the community, especially the Littleborough Rugby League.

“I really enjoyed running the pub, but I don’t see it as a job – it’s a way of life. I love my customers and I want to thank them for all of their support over the years.”

The pub celebrated by holding a free party on Sunday 17 November for customers.

“I celebrate every year and this party was great – I was overwhelmed by how the amount who attended. I would like to thank all of my customers over the last 21 years for their support and I look forward to another decade behind the bar,” Julie added.

Matthew Dutton, Punch Taverns Senior Partnership Development Manager, said: “Julie is a fantastic operator with real passion. She knows the area well and puts her heart and soul into the pub and the local community. I want to congratulate Julie on her hard work over the last 21 years.

“I look forward to working in partnership with Julie for years to come.”
