The search is on for Rochdale’s top independent trader

Date published: 20 June 2014

Independent of the Year is an opportunity to celebrate the best Independents on the UK High Streets and the hunt is under way to find out who should represent Rochdale in the national competition championing independent businesses.

The competition is open to all independently-owned businesses, and will be held throughout the month of July, with the national winner to be unveiled later this year.

Businesses across Rochdale can nominate themselves online and members of the public will then be able to vote for their favourite independent trader via Facebook. The business with the most likes and shares will go forward to represent Rochdale in the national final, going head-to-head with some of the best-loved firms in the UK.

Debbie Hernon, Chief Executive at Rochdale Town Centre Management Company, said:
“Rochdale Town Centre has some amazing local businesses and the Independent of the Year campaign will help bring in more customers. I am really excited to show off what Rochdale has to offer”

To take part in the competition, businesses can nominate themselves by visiting www.independentoftheyear.org.
