Jamilla Paul embarks on new venture in Littleborough

Date published: 04 December 2014

Hairdresser Jamilla Paul is set to move from her current Littleborough salon to new premises in the village as she starts a collaboration with Caroline Finnerty from Aphrodite Hair and Beauty.

Speaking about the venture Jamilla said: “We are really excited about it and are really looking forward to getting everything going.”

Jamillia decided to start this new venture after making the decision to move from her current premises in Littleborough.

She said: “We wanted to be able to offer more services to our customers in Littleborough and make the salon like the flagship salon in Rochdale. With this new building we can have everything under one roof.”

The new location will be at what was the Caldermoor Pub on Calderbrook Road.

Caroline Finnerty from Aphrodite Hair and Beauty said: “Jamilla was talking about what she could do with the location and how she could bring more clients in and do more things and that was something that I was interested in doing.

“I am really excited about it as are the staff. I haven’t worked with Jamilla before now but I am looking forward to the new partnership.”

The new venture will offer a variety of services from hair and beauty to HD Brows, manicures, massages, sunbeds, retail goods and a pop up shop from Strawberry Laces. The premises also contain a café bar on site with Jamilla planning on utilising that as well.

She added: “They have some really nice stuff in the café bar so it will be nice to offer are client’s champagne or afternoon tea whilst they are in having their treatments.”

Jamilla plans to open the new venture on Tuesday (9 December) but will be keeping her current Littleborough salon on New Road open until February.

“We will work the two salons alongside each other until February and then we will close the original Littleborough salon from then,” added Jamilla.

The new venture currently does not have a name with Jamilla asking for help from clients and friends for a name.

“We open on Tuesday and we still haven’t got a name. I have asked for some help in finding the right name but I haven’t had time to look through all of the suggestions yet. Hopefully I will settle on one soon,” said Jamilla.
