Mayor of Rochdale, Carol Wardle has officially opened the Biomechanics Lab at Walk Right Podiatry on Drake Street.

The Biomechanics lab at the clinic contains state of the art equipment including a Pressure Analysis Plate and an OptoGait system.

Speaking about the equipment, Rebecca Schofield, owner and senior podiatrist at Walk Right Podiatry, said: “There aren’t many places that have this equipment and usually people would have to go to places like Manchester to use it so we are really lucky to have it.”

As well as Mayor Carol Wardle and Mayoress Beverley Place, Rochdale Hornets player James Tilley was also in attendance and demonstrated the equipment.

Walk Right Podiatry have been based in Rochdale for over 25 years. Ms Schofield acquired the company in 2007.

She added: “We’re very excited at this launch and whilst the overall image of Rochdale in recent times hasn’t always had a fair representation from national media, we hope that this is something we can play our small part in changing, alongside those others striving to improve standards in our home town.”
