Rochdale CEOs visit Quat-Chem

Date published: 21 May 2015

Rochdale Borough Council’s Chief Executive Officer, Steve Rumbelow, and Rochdale Development Agency CEO, John Hudson, have visited Quat-Chem to congratulate the business on its achievements.

A privately owned chemical company that specialises in preventative hygiene technologies, Quat-Chem relocated to Rochdale from Oldham five years ago – since which time its sales have tripled. Exporting to 78 countries globally, with export sales making up some 70% of turnover, the business provides hygiene solutions for sectors as wide ranging as dairy, poultry, food & beverage and healthcare.

Quat-Chem’s product portfolio is considerable. It includes drinking water sanitisation and hatchery hygiene products for poultry farmers, innovative solutions for dairy hygiene and safeguarding dairy cow health, tank cleaners for the food industry and surgical scrubs.

Focused on business growth, Quat-Chem has invested significantly in automation across the production areas at its Dodgson Street premises. Committed to excellent customer service, the preventative hygiene technologies specialist has also installed a new manufacturing production and planning control software system from Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) specialists. These investments, combined with Quat-Chem’s plans to increase its 24-strong workforce, further underline its commitment to Rochdale.

Rochdale Council CEO, Steve Rumbelow said: “On behalf of Rochdale Borough Council and Rochdale Development Agency, I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to the team at Quat-Chem for the organisation’s continued success.

“Quat-Chem is a great example of success in private enterprise and we are proud that they have chosen to base their operations here in Rochdale.”
