WCCTV secures the perfect location for £2.5m business growth plan in Rochdale

Date published: 29 May 2015

Wireless CCTV (WCCTV) is the latest organisation to invest in new-build office, manufacturing and warehouse space in Rochdale.

A leading provider of rapidly deployable portable CCTV and surveillance systems, the business has announced its decision to commit £2.5 million for a state-of-the-art new facility on the borough’s Kingsway Business Park. Building work is scheduled to commence in the next few weeks and WCCTV is expected to move to Kingsway during Quarter Four, 2015.

With an increasing customer base – which includes transport providers, utility companies, police forces, local authorities, developers and housing organisations – WCCTV is rapidly outgrowing its current HQ on College Road, Rochdale.

When completed, the new Kingsway facility will provide WCCTV with 12,000 sq ft of mixed-use office, manufacturing and warehouse space. As well as equipping the company with room to develop its already impressive portfolio of overt and covert security technologies, the purpose-built premises will also incorporate an inspiring product demonstration suite.

“This is a particularly exciting time for everyone at WCCTV,” comments Finance Director, James Thornhill. “In addition to investing in new premises, we have designated some £350,000 for new product development. For example, we are about to launch a new high-definition, body-worn video device that will offer greater levels of evidence gathering to security and police forces. The device will be manufactured here in Rochdale.”

“With excellent transport links thanks to its close proximity to Junction 21 of the M62 motorway, Kingsway Business Park was the obvious choice for our relocation,” he continues. “Additionally, it was important to consider the needs of our loyal and skilled employees, many of whom live locally.”

Steve Rumbelow, Rochdale Council’s Chief Executive, said: “ We are really keen to support the expansion of local businesses and are in the great position of being able to offer growing companies the opportunity to develop new premises that exactly meet their requirements, both now and into the future.”

Robert Grafton, Development Director of commercial developers Wilson Bowden, added: “We are really pleased to have concluded the deal with WCCTV and their new headquarters will soon start taking shape on one of the more prominent sites on the business park. This marks the start of a new phase of development at Kingsway and we look forward to welcoming another manufacturing company to the park.”
