'Steaks' are high for Lords of Middleton

Date published: 12 July 2015

Lords of Middleton has been nominated as one of the best butchers in the North West at this year’s Northern Independent Retail Awards.

The butchers shop in Middleton is managed by brothers David and Andrew Lord. A profession passed down the family since 1893, David and Andrew are the fourth generation of butchers in Lords of Middleton.

David said: “We’ve been nominated before, and as always, it is an honour. We are pleased to be picked because we’d like to win, but it’s nice to be nominated anyway.

“We get our meat from Scotch Premier in Scotland, such as our Aberdeen Angus burgers and our steaks, which are very popular and a favourite. We give away prizes to our customers, like our BBQ packs and steaks at the moment.”

The judges are looking for butchers who dedicate themselves to delivering the best of all cuts of fresh, high-quality meat across the board, with an excellent standard of service to their customers throughout the year.

Yasmin Mahmood, the Awards’ Operations Manager, said: “We are looking for butchers who give their time to their business. We want the very best, who provide fresh produce daily, supplying a great variety and of good quality. We aim for their hard work to be recognised across the Northern area.”

The awards will be held at Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel on Sunday 19 July.
