Craft Cottage celebrates third birthday

Date published: 15 August 2015

Craft Cottage, a small craft shop in Wardle, celebrated its third birthday by holding a craft event for children, as well as offering tea, coffee and cake to those in attendance.

Rebecca Hilton from Craft Cottage said: “It has gone really well today. We have been really busy and have had to send out for extra supplies.”

At the celebrations, children could make grass heads to take home.

“With us being open three years, we just decided to do a little event to celebrate,” said Rebecca.

Craft Cottage was originally located in the former Rochdale Emporium in Rochdale Town Centre, but decided to move to Wardle after a year.

Rebecca added: “To be honest we didn’t too well in the Emporium, so we decided to come back to Wardle and we converted the garage into a little shop and have been here since.

“The last three years have gone really well, but this past year has been our busiest.”

Rebecca hopes to one day expand Craft Cottage and hopes to be able to incorporate a café.

She added: “I would really like a little café area where people could come for tea and coffee and things but we haven’t thought about that yet.”
