Performance Doorset Solutions bought by Masonite

Date published: 17 August 2015

Performance Doorset Solutions, the Littleborough based door and window manufacturing company, has been bought by one of the world’s leading door manufacturers, Masonite International Corporation.

Masonite is a leading manufacturer of interior and exterior doors for domestic and commercial markets. It employs over seven thousand people and sells to 70 countries from over 55 locations worldwide. Masonite’s UK division operates from its 400,000 ft2 factory and is a landmark for drivers on the M1 in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

PDS Managing Director Tim Fairley said: “Masonite’s acquisition is an exciting new chapter. PDS customers will benefit from Masonite’s immense knowledge, resources and experience, particularly in product development and innovation. Masonite is a company that has doors at the heart of its culture, so I am delighted that PDS is joining the Masonite family and becoming a part its future. This should be reassuring to customers and potential customers who want long term supply relationships with a progressive organisation.”

Robin Baker, General Manager for Masonite UK, said: “The bespoke door and window market is an exciting place to be. Acquiring Performance Doorset Solutions and its impressive business model places Masonite into this market and positions us for further growth.

“Performance Doorset Solutions is a very complimentary addition to Masonite’s portfolio in the UK. Only twelve years old, PDS is a young company with noteworthy potential. The aim is that the acquisition will have positive implications on all stakeholders not least of all the local community.”

Performance Doorset Solutions retains the senior management team to ensure continued growth and delivery on its promises to both current and future customers.
