Rochdale law firm Price Mears and Co has closed its doors after 35 years, following the retirement of partners Steven Price and James Mears.

They managed a small and dedicated legal team from their office in Church Lane, Rochdale. They have enjoyed varied and successful legal careers spanning almost four decades.

Mr Mears’s work encompassed conveyancing, wills and probate whilst Mr Price worked as a personal injury specialist, being a member of The Law Society’s Personal Injury Specialisation Panel as well as being accredited by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.

“I consider it both an honour and a privilege to have served the Rochdale community for the best part of my legal career over the last 35 years at Price Mears & Co and am now looking forward to the new opportunities and challenges that await me in my retirement,” said Mr Price.

“Our current clients and clients for whom we hold wills and deeds have been contacted to inform them that we have ceased trading. Any clients who may have any administrative queries may contact us in writing and their correspondence will be dealt with in due course,” he said.

“Our professional colleagues at Molesworths Bright Clegg have indicated that they are happy to help our returning clients or any new clients who may have any legal problems.”

Many of the firms existing clients and those with ongoing cases have chosen to transfer their files to the legal team at Molesworths who will continue to offer the highest level of legal care and advice.

Peter Rhodes, Managing Partner at Molesworths, said: “Steven and Jim have worked to exceptionally high standards for over 35 years and the partners of Molesworths Bright Clegg wish them all the very best for their retirement. Former clients of theirs are most welcome to contact our team directly to make an appointment to discuss any new or existing legal issue and can be assured that we will continue to provide them with the same high quality service they have previously enjoyed with Steven and Jim.”
