FSB organises outdoor networking event in Saddleworth

Date published: 26 August 2015

FSB members, their families, and friends are all invited to join the Federation’s Manchester & North Cheshire Regional Committee for its inaugural ‘networking in nature’ ramble on Sunday, September 13 in Saddleworth.

The business support organisation says it is putting on the event for business people either fed up with more traditional types of networking, or those who just love the great outdoors and aren’t afraid to try something a bit different.

The circular walk starts from the car park at Saddleworth Museum, Uppermill at 11.00am. Ramblers will then take a relaxed stroll along the Huddersfield Canal, on through the village of Diggle, before arriving at the Diggle Hotel for a either light lunch or just liquid refreshments. The walk resumes it eventually returns to Upermill.

FSB Regional Chairman, Simon Edmondson, said: “This event will provide business owners with a chance to network in a more relaxed, informal setting, and allow them to catch-up on local FSB lobbying activities and other events we have planned this autumn.

“If the idea of networking in a stuffy room full of suits isn’t for you, hopefully the beautiful Saddleworth countryside will prove a tempting alternative. If it’s successful we’ll certainly be doing more of these,” he added.

Non-members are welcome to attend, and the FSB is asking attendees to bring any friends, colleagues or families – children included – who might enjoy the autumnal fresh air. The walk will take no longer than four hours, is not strenuous, and will include a number of comfort breaks.
