Charlene Wallis nominated for Enterprise Vision Award

Date published: 10 September 2015

Rochdale businesswoman Charlene Wallis has been nominated for an Enterprise Vision Award.

Charlene, 27, from Syke, runs Diamond Dazzle Hair and Accessories stall in Bolton Market and has been shortlisted for the Young Entrepreneur award.

Charlene said: “It was a real achievement in itself to be nominated for the award, but to then go on and become a finalist is a huge achievement. This is the first time I have ever been nominated for anything so I am really excited.”

The Enterprise Vision Awards recognise women in business from across the North West and in 2015 will be celebrating their fifth annual event.

Charlene has also secured a contract with the NHS which means that she is able to accept NHS wig vouchers in exchange for Dimples full head wigs.

“My dad had cancer for around 14 years and even though he was ill, he would still go to work. The only time he didn’t go to work was when he lost his hair and if I can help people feel confident again after losing their hair, then I will,” said Charlene.

NHS wig vouchers help people who have suffered from hair loss due to medical reasons. This includes those who have lost their hair through cancer treatment. Charlene is available for wig fittings across Rochdale, Heywood, Bury, Bolton, Wigan and Leigh for NHS and private sales.

She added: “It is really nice when you help someone get a wig and they feel fantastic because of it.”

Charlene will find out if she has been successful in winning the award at an awards ceremony in Blackpool on Friday 25 September.

“It would mean a lot to me if I won,” said Charlene. “I think when you have an award behind you it makes people trust you a bit more and it adds something to your business, so it really would mean the world to me to win.”

Members of the public can now vote for who they want to win the award.
