Sysop to train North West NHS I.T. and Information staff

Date published: 23 September 2015

Sysop has been appointed by the North West Skills Development Network (‘the Network’) to deliver IT service management, ‘ITIL’ training for NHS IT and informatics professionals across the region, from Lancashire and Greater Manchester to Cheshire and Merseyside.

The Network, which is fully funded by NHS organisations in the North West, is responsible for the professional development, networking and sharing of best practice amongst 4,500 informatics staff.

Sysop’s programme will deploy a flexible blend of e-learning, classroom preparation and ITIL examination.

Commenting on the programme’s approach, the Network Informatics Skills Development Manager Julie Davison said: “As an organisation we are about supporting the continued professional development of people within the Health Service. They are all constrained by time, and because we work across the North West it is difficult to find a solution that works for everybody, face to face. Experience and research has led us to offer a blended, e-learning and classroom solution: we believe that we will get better engagement with more people staying on the programme, completing and achieving.

“We found Sysop more flexible and accommodating than other providers – and they offered the most cost-effective solution."

Sysop director of professional services, Adam Sawle said: “Adapting training and education to the geography and working practices of the client is underrated but highly effective.

“This programme and its participants will benefit from that adaptive approach."
