Kingsway Business Park close to securing more tenants

Date article online: 10/03/2008

British Millerain, which makes performance fabrics, is expected to sign for the Broadshaw  Farm building, a Grade II listed farmhouse that lies at the edge of Kingsway Business park.

Negotiations are ongoing with Carcraft who want to put a car showroom as well as take their head office to the site, however, Kingsway have refused to sanction the car showroom despite Carcraft Managing Director Barry Nightingale writing a plea to John Hudson, Chief Executive of Rochdale Development Agency.

There is speculation that the Co-operative Group may move to the site, though the co-op has short listed a number of potential sites throughout the region.

A targeted marketing campaign inside and outside the UK is planned for later this year by the P3 consultancy. P3 will be targeting companies that can bring highly-skilled jobs to the site, across a variety of sectors.

Amid fears that Kingsway could affect interest in the Rochdale town centre regeneration scheme, Rob Green of NWDA has said the NWDA thinks Kingsway and the town centre can be complementary. He said he doesn't think it will be a case of picking one over the other. It should raise standards in the town and across the region.
