Tribute: Beryl Brinkman

The family of Beryl Brinkman, who died following a collision in Littleborough, have paid tribute to her:

“Beryl was a well known and loved dancing teacher within the community. She had taught tap, ballet and the over 50's keep fit at St Mary's Church Hall for over 30 years.

"She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

"Beryl leaves a loving brother, niece, nephew and great nieces and nephews and their families.”

Just before 8pm on Wednesday 8 January 2014, police were called to Featherstall Road at its junction with Albion Street, Littleborough, following reports that three cars had collided.

Officers attended and found a Peugeot 107, a Ford Transit Connect and an Audi RS6 had collided.

The driver of the Peugeot, an 80-year-old woman, Beryl Brinkman, from the Rochdale area, was cut free from her car by the emergency services and taken to hospital as a result. However, she died on Friday 10 January 2014.

The driver of the Ford, a man, suffered a minor injury to his chest and the driver of the Audi was uninjured.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741.
