TBA team up with Hornets

Date published: 31 January 2016

Rochdale Hornets have teamed up with local industry again in a bid to deliver success on and off the pitch.

TBA Protective Technologies have made a significant investment in the town's oldest professional sports club that will also support the work of the Rochdale Hornets Sporting Foundation in schools and communities across the borough.

TBA, who were formed in 1871-the same year as the Hornets, will support the Mosaic Mentoring Programme at Kingsway Park High School, as well as supporting rugby league coaching and competition in primary and secondary schools across the borough.

Now in its second year with the Hornets, the Mosaic Mentoring programme is a national programme with Royal patronage that aims to build employability and personal skills with secondary school pupils through small group mentoring.

Hornets senior staff, including Chairman Mark Wynn, CEO Ryan Bradley and Head Coach Alan Kilshaw, will work with pupils at Kingsway High school over the coming term to pass on their skills and knowledge, whilst TBA, once the Borough's largest employer, will also provide workplace visits and expertise from an employer's perspective.

Rochdale Hornets Chairman, Mark Wynn, commented: "We are really pleased to be partnering with TBA across a range of projects and initiatives, especially the Mosaic Mentoring Programme.

"We are incredibly proud that through the work of the club and our Charitable Foundation, Rochdale Hornets is now seen across industry and commerce locally as the best option to engage with the wider community."

TBA Commercial & Marketing Manager, Vivienne Fisher, added: "It is an honour to have the opportunity to sponsor our local rugby league team in their fantastic work with the Mosaic Programme, alongside Hornets’ coaching events and competitions with local primary and secondary schools, whilst at the same time bringing greater awareness of the opportunities that exist within local manufacturing in our borough."

The new TBA logo will also adorn the front of the Hornets' players match day attire this season as well as Spotland Stadium.
