Rochdale Hornets announce Te'o signing
Date published: 31 January 2014
Rochdale Hornets are pleased to announce the signing of a second oversees player, following the signature of Sam Te'o from Wynnum Manly Seagulls, Australia (subject to RFL clearance).
Te'o is a versatile player, who can play at wing, centre or full back as well as in the back row.
He can claim eligibility for Samoa and Scotland. He is currently in Australia and is expected to fly over with Fijian half back Ryan Millard in the coming weeks.
Te'o comes with a fantastic pedigree - after being scouted for Keebra School, he moved to play for Wests Tigers under 20s in the Jersey Flegg before moving to Wynnum Manly Seagulls, via Wentworthville.
He has played both FOGS grade and Intrust Super Cup, playing in the victorious 2011 Intrust Super Cup Grand Final winning team.
Head coach Ian Talbot is delighted with the signing and said: "Sam fits the bill for us perfectly. He is versatile, big and strong and will add options all over the pitch. He is hungry to prove himself and that's what we want here."
