Hornets News

Rochdale Hornets have added the vastly experienced former Salford and current Ireland International Stuart Littler to their ranks on loan from Leigh Centurions.

Littler has impressed in outings at Barrow and Batley and will add much needed experience to the Hornets back line.

With Mike Ratu and Garteh Langley currently sidelined, the addition of Littler coupled the with the return of Alex McClurg, Tony Suffolk and Ryan King will give Hornets a boost when they return to Spotland for matches against Featherstone, Barrow and Leigh in July as they battle to stay in the second tier.

2015 Away Kit: Members to decide

The design process for the 2015 away kit has started in earnest and Rochdale Hornets would like to offer members a chance to have their say on what the kit will look like.

At the last AGM it was proposed and accepted that the away kit will be chosen by members vote and at the last membership meeting the initial guidance that a bright, plain and simple design would be the original concept.

Early concepts from current manufacturers Kooga are available to view and Hornets would like members to feedback on the options proposed - do you like the colours? Any other combinations you would like to see? What do you think of the design- too simple maybe? Email your thoughts to info@hornetsrugbyleague.com

Once Hornets have feedback Kooga will present some options upon which members can have the final vote.

Squad Builder

The successful 'Kit Builder' scheme is back, renamed as 'Squad Builder'

Members, supporters and sport enthusiasts alike have the chance to get their name on the Hornets kit for 2015 whilst supporting Ian Talbot to get the best squad in place for the 2015 season.

For just £20 you purchase a place in a draw which takes place at the end of season presentation. Three lucky winners are drawn at random to get their name on the collar of the playing and replica kits. This year, all of the people that enter the draw will receive a 10cm x 10cm (approx) 'patch' on the away kit which will feature a photo of choice subliminated into the design of the shirt, with three winners again selected to feature on the collar of the away player and replica jerseys.

The money raised from the 2014 kit builder was used towards funding flight costs for Fiji international Ryan Millard to join up with Hornets as well as providing funds to purchase dietary supplements for the entire squad.

Pre match dining prices slashed for season ticket holders

Member’s feedback regarding pre-match dining pricing was taken into account at the recent board meeting and the proposal to offer season ticket holders a discount was proposed by Wendy Hamer and duly accepted by the board.

For just £10 season ticket holders can enjoy a two course lunch, ground tour and optional executive seating in the private dining room, as well as witness the captain’s coin toss and player interviews pre game.

To book, call the office on 01706 648004.
