‘Can You Kick It?’ to win £400...

Date published: 27 August 2014

A £400 jackpot prize awaits Hornets supporters attending the last home game of the season on Sunday 7 September against Sheffield Eagles.

To win the prize, participants buy a ticket and three will be drawn and have the opportunity kick the ball over the sticks from the half way line - nine have tried and failed at the last three home games.

Organiser of the challenge, Red Cape Marketing MD, Martin Ballard, said: “It's a simple idea to try and bring additional funds into the club.”

“As a director of the Hornets, I'm launching many initiatives for the next financial year along with both the board and the executive board as we drive to make the club both sustainable and successful.”

“Every penny of the £1 to play this game goes to the club, and over the season will bring in an additional £1000 or so. And we get to have a laugh along the way.”

So far no-one has completed that challenge, and to help raise spirits Martin introduced a '20/20' wimp-out clause where you can kick it from 20 metres to win £20.

In last week's home game against Doncaster, Andre Dunn successfully managed to kick it over from 20 metres to claim his £20 prize.

Andre was the first one to take money from the pot, but the jackpot still stands.

Go along to the last home game of the season to see if you can claim the £400 jackpot.
