Rochdale AFC 2016-17 season ticket announcement

Date published: 18 April 2016

Rochdale AFC is pleased to announce 2016-17 season tickets will go on sale from 9am on Monday 25 April.

There will be no price increase for season tickets next season.* In addition, as part of the club’s strategy to grow the younger fan base, the Board of Directors has agreed to raise the age band for free junior season tickets from seven to 11. This means, all primary school aged children aged 11 and under within Rochdale Borough will be entitled to apply for a free season ticket. **

This is a huge stride forward by the Club in an effort to grow tomorrow’s fan base and secure the future legacy of Rochdale AFC.

Director David Bottomley said: “Almost half of our existing season ticket holders are aged over 50. In addition, only 12% of our season ticket holders are aged between 25 – 40. In order for the club to have a sustainable future and grow attendances, we must reach out to families and the younger generation.

“By offering free season tickets to all primary school aged children, we are giving youngsters an appetite to becoming lifelong fans and making match days at Spotland a more affordable day out for families.”

As part of the clubs marketing efforts to promote the free under 11s season tickets, leaflets and posters will be distributed to all 74 primary schools within Rochdale Borough along with presentations rolled out by Dale in the Community Sports Trust and player visits.

Letters will be issued to all existing season ticket holders this week explaining the full proposals and details of how to renew. The club will also be contacting lapsed season ticket holders in the coming weeks to encourage take up.

As usual, early bird season ticket applications will be rewarded with eleven promotional vouchers worth up to £100 including money off deals and offers from local businesses. You will also be automatically entered into the prize draw to win back the price of your season ticket. The special promotion period will run from 25 April – 4 June.

A new pricing structure for executive boxes will also be implemented with seats available from £595 per season along with investment in a refurbishment programme during the summer break period.

Over the past two seasons, under Keith Hill’s management, Rochdale AFC has established itself as a strong League One team but we are now in a position to aim even higher and reach for the stars. The dream of Championship promotion has never been closer but for us to achieve this shared ambition, we need your continued support. Together we can make it happen.

Renew your season ticket from Monday 25 April.

You can renew online at www.rafctickets.co.uk, over the phone: 0844 826 1907 or by calling into the RAFC ticket office.

*Season ticket price freeze excludes executive box season tickets.

**Application forms for free under 11s season tickets must be completed with proof of age for new applicants. An administration fee of £10 will apply. Season tickets for under 11s are subject to availability.
