The Bowlee Car Boot Sale & Collectors’ Market season is in full swing, with the country park event running until Sunday 3 September.

The popular event at Bowlee Community Park in Middleton will run on Sundays 13, 20 August and Bank Holiday Monday 28 August, with the final sale of the summer on Sunday 3 September.

There’s no need to book, just turn up - the event runs from 7am to 1.30pm, with the car park open from 6.15am.

The council have recently completed a £12,000 refurbishment of the customer toilets located in The Pavilion.

Councillor Neil Emmott, Cabinet Member for Housing and Environment at Rochdale Borough Council said: "Some dates earlier in the season had to be cancelled due to poor weather, but I am pleased we have been able to extend this popular event into September. The crowds have been very good, with around two hundred sellers and over five thousand buyers a week.”

Prices for selling are £13 for cars, £16 for small vans/people carriers/4X4s and £22 for large vans and above. For buyers, there are spaces for over 1,000 cars in Bowlee Park at £2 per vehicle.

Bowlee Community Park is just off Heywood Old Road (A6045), Middleton, M24 4SB with easy access from the M60 (junction 19).
