The Under 7s team for Rochdale Rugby Union Club have a new sponsor in the form of MB Recycling Ltd.

Managing Director Maxine Brown, whose nephew plays for the team, said: “I was approached by the rugby club to sponsor the team kits as they were looking for local businesses to support them.

"This was ideal timing as MB Recycling were in the process of setting up a new recycling plant in the local area, so to gain some publicity and help a local sporting club at the same time seemed a perfect opportunity.”

MB Recycling Ltd is in the final stages of opening a new plastic recycling plant is set to open in Rochdale, with the aim of reducing the amount of plastic waste either being sent to landfill or exported to China.

Club Chairman Iain Coates commented: “Our club’s survival is heavily dependent on the kindness of all its sponsors, for teams from Under 7s to Seniors and we are eternally grateful to them all.”

The club are always looking to recruit new players: most age groups train or play at 10:30 on Sunday mornings, and if new recruits want to come down they will always be made to feel very welcome at this friendly social club.

Everyone involved in the Mini and Juniors section of the club give up their time on a voluntary basis and help is always welcome, from new coaches to volunteers at events.
