Progress with the best at Hopwood Hall College

Date published: 30 September 2017

Hopwood Hall College is inviting all prospective students to an open day at both their Middleton and Rochdale campuses on Saturday 7 October between 10am – 2pm.

It is a great opportunity to look round each campus, particularly the outdoor animal management and horticulture areas, and see why the college was awarded a ‘good’ rating by Education watchdog Ofsted in November 2016.

All attendees the opportunity to have a go at courses and apply on the day with help from tutors. Specific activities already confirmed are:

  • Hair and beauty demonstrations
  • Have a go at 2D games
  • Clay building in the sculpture department
  • Build a wall with the brickwork team
  • Watch rehearsals for the latest production - ‘Freak Show’

Practical learning

If you have had enough of sitting in a classroom and you woud like to learn through practical experience, a BTEC qualification could be just what you’re looking for. With level three courses equivalent to A levels, they are a recognised pathway to higher education at university.

Hopwood Hall is also one of the highest performing colleges in Greater Manchester, with success rates that put them at the top of the league table for two years running. They excel on the sporting field and have a legacy of developing successful sportsmen and women, including footballer Craig Dawson and double Olympic gold medallist boxer Nicola Adams. They have also recently launched the Jill Scott Ladies Football Academy at their Middleton campus.

Additionally, all their students benefit from free gym membership, free breakfast, 8 free bus routes and up to £30 bursary per week (terms and conditions apply).
