Rochdale Christmas Guide

Date published: 06 November 2013

Town Centre Management (TCM) has put together an events guide to help residents make the most of visiting Rochdale town centre this Christmas.

There’s a host of entertainment throughout the festive season with lots of shops and bars and restaurants.

Parking is free after 3pm every day and all day Saturday and Sunday on council car parks.

Debbie Hernon, CEO of TCM, said: "Rochdale Town Centre Management and Rochdale Council are committed to supporting Rochdale businesses and hope that you can show your support too and shop local this festive period.

"For every £1 you spend with a local, independent business, between 50p-70p circulates back into your local economy. Shopping locally supports local traders, their suppliers and the people they depend upon to run their businesses. Buying locally boosts your local economy, rebuilding confidence in the community, enabling local businesses to grow."

This festive event returns to Rochdale town centre for 2013.

Father Christmas will parade down Yorkshire Street in his sleigh, pulled by his trusty reindeer and followed by a brass brand playing Christmas carols, entertaining street theatre and local school children.

After the parade is finished on The Butts, meet Father Christmas and feed the reindeer in their pen.

Children’s rides and Christmas music will add to the day’s entertainment.
