Letter: Our outstanding Sixth Form College

Date published: 26 January 2017

Dear Editor,

Last week I had the pleasure on congratulating Hopwood Hall College students and staff on their continued success as one of the best colleges in the country.

No sooner was the ink dry on that letter, it's now the turn of our outstanding Sixth Form College.

They’ve broken their own record yet again to be named number one in the country for A-Level progress - for the fourth consecutive year.

That’s no mean feat in this time of ever-changing exam criteria, so it’s all the more pleasing to see our hard working students doing so well.

Achievements like this don't just fall out of the trees. They are earned by the hard work and dedication of principal Julian Appleyard, his excellent team of lecturers and, of course, the outstanding young people themselves.

Yet another good thing Rochdale can be proud of.

Well done to everyone concerned. Go to the top of the class.
