Letter: What can you do to make Rochdale Hornets better?
Date published: 27 November 2017
Mark Wynn - Hornets Chairman
In 2018 we will celebrate our 10th season as a supporter owned and run co-operative. We can all look back on what this club has achieved in that time and what we can go onto achieve in the next 10 seasons.
The 2018 season promises to be incredibly exciting and we believe we have assembled a strong squad that can continue with our incremental improvement and take us further up the Championship ladder with the aim to get in a position to challenge for a place in the Super 8’s.
Your support is vital to this. We all need to do what we can to take this club forward.
As the chairman for pretty much all our life as a supporter owned club, I have tried to give all I possibly can to ensure this club improves, grows and develops. My efforts and those of my fellow board members, past and present can only do so much. This is the time to back the team in 2018.
I ask every single Hornets member, supporter and fan to take on the challenge of helping to drive this club forward.
Ask yourself: “What can I do to make Rochdale Hornets better?”
As an update to members and supporters we would like to announce the appointment of Steve Kerr as our new CEO. Steve replaces Adam Bates who has decided to stand down after the pressures of traveling from Nottingham every day and the birth of his first child became too big a burden. We all wish Adam all the best for the future.
Steve will officially take over from Monday and again I am sure all genuine Hornets supporters will wish Steve and his small team all the best to push Hornets onto the next level.
I also write to inform members of the upcoming annual general meeting.
The AGM for Rochdale Hornets Rugby Football Club Society Ltd will take place at 12 noon on Sunday 17 December at the Crown Oil Arena.
We urge all members to attend, give your input and express what you can do to help take the club forward. There won’t be the need for an election this year as no new nominations came forward.
After the AGM there will be a meet the players event followed by our traditional Christmas party.
The views expressed are those of the author of the letter and not those of Rochdale Online.
