Letter: Jacqui Beswick would be the ideal leader for the new start that the council needs

Date published: 10 December 2017

Dear Editor,

I believe Jacqui Beswick would be the ideal leader for the new start that the council needs. A break from the past with new and fresh ideas to help the council get through the huge Tory government cuts that are being imposed on it.

The party needs to show that it is listening to the residents right across the borough and will be working hard for all of the townships.

At a time of Tory government led austerity we need a leader who will look at new initiatives and ways of defending our much needed services and importantly we need a council leader who can work with Andy Burnham the GM Mayor.

The party needs to show that it has heard the concerns of residents right across the whole borough and it is acting. The only candidate to do all this is Jacqui Beswick.

Yours,

Councillor Chris Furlong
