Letter: Tongue-in-cheek re Councillor Beswick?

Date published: 12 December 2017

Dear Editor,

The letter from Mohamed Hainef (11 December 2017) must surely have been written tongue-in-cheek?

He writes, “Councillor Beswick puts people first where sadly in recent years the present regime have only been interested in increasing their allowances.”

Well, I was at the meeting when the increase in allowances was voted on. I can assure Mr Hainef that Councillor Beswick’s hand shot up in favour of the increases faster than Alan Brett could pull a face. Yes, it was that quick.

The current lot are virtually all the same.

When push comes to shove, they always have one eye on promoting themselves and their own political organisations.

New candidates seem to be carefully selected conformists, so as to maintain the status quo.

A clean sweep of them all would be a good start for genuine change.

Yours,

Carl Faulkner
