The Mayor and Mayoress, Ray and Elaine Dutton, presented Lucas De Lima with a prize at Rochdale Connections Trust on Thursday (26 May).

Lucas was the winner of a competition in which students were asked to design a website for the charity

Lucas’s tutor, Namaan Mohammed said: “A project of this type is a very useful part of the students’ studies in the IT field.”

Vivien Carter, chairwoman of RCT, said: “I am delighted that the project had been useful to both the students and the charity. The website will go live very shortly.

“This was a very happy event and the session culminated in almost everyone wanting their photo taken with the Mayor.

“The time the Mayor and Mayoress spent with the group was very much appreciated by everyone present.”

Following the prize giving, a cheque from The Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund was presented to the Mayor and Mayoress for their charitable fund by Vivien Carter, Deputy Lieutenant of Greater Manchester.
