Strawberry Tea party in support of Breast Cancer Care

Date published: 25 June 2016

Residents at Half Acre House Care Home were treated to a Strawberry Tea party, organised by Asda Rochdale in aid of Breast Cancer Care.

The event was one of the Strawberry Tea events that Asda’s Community Champion, Ellenor McDonald, has been organising for the local community.

Staff at the store have also been running cupcake decorating and tea party games.

Ellenor McDonald said: "What an amazing time we’ve had raising awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Care.

“We had a fabulous group at Half Acre House, including 102 year old, Emma, who enjoyed every minute and every cake.

“Whether it’s you and a few friends in the garden, a family tea party or even a strawberry bake sale at your work or school, this is a great excuse to get together, host a Strawberry Tea event and make a massive difference."

Hannah Branch, community fundraising manager at Breast Cancer Care, said: “We’re delighted Asda colleagues and customers are supporting Breast Cancer Care and Strawberry Tea this summer.

“We’d love more people to gather friends and family to host their own afternoon tea. The funds raised through each and every Strawberry Tea enable Breast Cancer Care to continue to be there for anyone facing breast cancer, from day one.”

All money raised will help Breast Cancer Care provide support for women, men, family and friends affected by breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Care is the only UK wide charity providing support for anyone affected by breast cancer.
