Abbie Evans, Alex Watson, Samantha Brooks and Matthew Cummings - apprenticeships at The Bird at Birtle,

Abbie Evans, Alex Watson, Samantha Brooks and Matthew Cummings have been taken on as full-time apprentices at The Bird at Birtle, with award winning celebrity chef Andrew Nutter.

Abbie Evans is currently completing a Level 2 Professional Cookery course at Bury College. Her apprenticeship will lead to a Level 3 in Professional Cookery.

Ms Evans, who has aspirations of becoming a well-known chef, said: “The best thing about the course was the opportunity to learn lots of new skills.”

Ms Evans’ tutor, James Donnelly said: “It was clear from the start that Abbie was very good, in practical and theory work.

"Abbie’s apprenticeship is a fantastic achievement and she will benefit greatly from being surrounded by other talent.”
