Holy Family achieve gold award status

Date published: 19 July 2016

Holy Family has been awarded the 'Gold Standard Inspiring IAG Award' in recognition of the Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) it offers.

Inspiring IAG is a national quality award which focuses on careers education, information, advice and guidance (CE/IAG).

The award has been designed to enable organisations who work with young people to deliver and be recognised for good quality careers education, information, advice and guidance, and also assist them to meet legislation, prepare for inspection and provide a better service.

Six units make up the framework of the award, each underpinned by the principles of equality, diversity and raising aspirations.

  • Management and Leadership
  • Design and Delivery of CEIAG
  • Working with Partners
  • Information and Communication
  • Outcomes for Young People
  • Involving Parents/Carers

In addition to submitting evidence for all the units an external assessor visited school to meet with the head and senior leaders, the career adviser, house officers, mentors and form tutors as well as governors, parents/carers,; external agencies, post 16 providers and employers.

Following this a validation panel met to quality assure and decide the outcome.

The award is valid for three years and the organisation is required to maintain the standards through an annual review process. In making the award the assessor thanked the staff for all their hard work and in particular the contribution of Wendy Hobson, Careers Adviser/Lead Careers and PSHCE coordinator.

The good quality CEIAG provision we provide enables our students to make well informed decisions about their futures.
