Students at Cardinal Langley achieved 99% A-level pass rate

Students at Cardinal Langley achieved a 99% pass rate in this year’s A Level results, with 92% of their sixth form students achieving at least a C or Distinction grade or above. An A*-B or Distinction * grade was also achieved by 61% of their pupils.

Anthony Campbell, Head of Sixth Form, said: “We are very proud of all of our students and their achievements this year. They were a fantastic year group and were a pleasure to have supported. They were hard working and motivated with many achieving grades beyond our expectations.

“The average grade achieved this year was a B- and we are expecting more students than ever to be successful in their university and apprenticeship applications.”

Amongst Cardinal Langley’s high performers this year was Melissa Collins, who achieved an A* in Business Studies and A’s in Economics and PE. She said: “I’m pretty happy. I’ve worked really hard and now I’m looking forward to studying International Business Economics at the University of Manchester in September.”

Cameron Phillips, who got A’s in Maths, Physics and Economics, said: “I couldn’t have done any better. I changed colleges to come here and it has been much better at Cardinal Langley, I’ve really enjoyed my time here. I’m going to the University of Manchester to study Maths.”

Jennifer Coughlan achieved A*’s in Art and English Language and B’s in English Literature and AS Maths. She is going to Edinburgh University to study English Language and Linguistics and said: “I’m over the moon and it’s just a massive relief to have got these results.”
