Future Foundations at Siddal Moor

Date published: 26 September 2016

Siddal Moor hosted another careers event last Thursday (22 September) in which all students were invited to the school sports hall to see over 24 post 16 providers from around the North-West region.

Organiser Steve Walmsley was delighted with the response and felt many students came away learning something new about their potential career path for life after Siddal Moor.

Mr Walmsley said: “The whole point of the idea was to raise the aspirations of the students at Siddal Moor, but more importantly, it was to assist the current year 11's engage with the next phase of their education”.

Parents were also given the chance to attend the event in which many took this opportunity to see what career paths are available for their child.

Students were treated to a host of various activities from the providers, including Stage make-up, Pottery Making, Child Care and Police Cadets. Students also took away goodies which included pens, highlighters and yoyos.
