New planters for Ashworth Valley

Date published: 11 October 2016

Four new planters of flowers have been placed at the entrance of Ashworth Fold and by the Parish Hall on School Lane.

The planters, containing conifers, violas and polyanthus, were purchased by The Friends of Ashworth Valley volunteer group using donations provided by local businesses.

Rochdale Borough Council’s Environmental Management team donated 500 daffodil bulbs to the Friends to plant in the hedgerows and also provided them with litter picking equipment.

Paul Ellison, said: “As a Friends group, we are a voluntary organisation, we are currently looking for like-minded volunteers who are prepared to give a little of their time, so any further help or donations would be welcomed.”

The Friends of Ashworth Valley would like to thank Rochdale Borough Council and their sponsors: Owd Betts Inn, AJ Properties, Bridge Inn Chippy, Admiral Labels and Print, Brian Andrews Hairdressing, RS Landscapes, Baguettes, Suburb Café, Special Branch Tree Services, Mike Goldrick Blinds.
